Through Zone In, the City of Columbus is modernizing a zoning code written more than 70 years ago to reflect how our city has grown — and how people live, work, and move today.
As part of this effort, the city has drafted a new land use policy and map that will guide the next phase of zoning code updates. This draft focuses on mixed-use districts, industrial and warehouse areas, and business and institutional campuses — places where housing, jobs, and amenities can grow side by side to strengthen our neighborhoods and expand opportunity.
Now, we want to hear from you.
Visit columbus.gov/zoningupdate to review the draft policy and map, share your feedback, and learn more about the work underway through Zone In. This public comment period runs from October 14 through November 9, 2025.
You can also meet with staff and share your thoughts in person at the upcoming community event:

Join us to explore how this new land use policy and map will guide future zoning updates and help build a city that works for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there — and to hearing your ideas on how Columbus should grow.
