On March 3, 2026 at 10am, the Columbus Empowerment Corp is hosting a virtual event to provide a clear, practical overview of Opportunity Zones — what they are, why they matter, and how communities can advocate to be included in the Opportunity Zone map.
This session is presented in collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (COED), Columbus Empowerment Corporation, Put Us On The Map, and CEO 360, Inc.
Opportunity Zones are a federal economic development tool designed to encourage long-term investment in underserved urban, small-town, and rural communities. Many areas missed the first wave of participation simply because they did not have clear information or organized advocacy. This discussion will help explain how the program works and why informed community involvement is essential.
