Senior Vice President, Finance & Accounting
Marble Cliff Capital (MCC), a fast-growing LIHTC syndicator based in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President, Finance & Accounting to lead all financial strategy, accounting operations, fund reporting, and treasury management across our expanding national LIHTC equity platform. This executive will serve as a key member of MCC’s leadership team, partnering directly with the President to drive strategic growth, strengthen financial infrastructure, and support high-quality capital deployment into affordable housing communities nationwide.
About the Role
The SVP, Finance & Accounting will oversee all corporate and fund accounting functions, manage treasury operations, direct annual budgeting and forecasting, and ensure rigorous financial reporting for all MCC entities and LIHTC equity funds. This leader will function as MCC’s internal LIHTC accounting expert—responsible for complex fund structures, investor reporting, audits, tax processes, compliance, and banking relationships.
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Oversee and deliver all financial planning, reporting, and analysis for senior leadership and tax credit investors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and LIHTC-specific guidance (ASU 2014-01, ASU 2023-02).
Lead annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, monitoring performance and advising leadership on variances and trends.
Partner with the President on strategic planning, annual budgeting processes, and financial prioritization.
Treasury & Cash Management
Manage daily cash monitoring to ensure liquidity for all primary operating entities.
Administer all bank accounts, initiate wires/ACH transactions, manage banking platforms, and serve as MCC’s primary banking contact.
Prepare investor capital call letters, perform quarterly strategic cash analysis, and invest corporate funds.
Fund Accounting & LIHTC Expertise
Serve as the internal expert on LIHTC equity fund and partnership accounting.
Manage reporting on capital contributions, distributions, waterfalls, and tax allocations.
Oversee accounting for multi-investor and proprietary LIHTC funds, ensuring strict compliance with partnership agreements and LIHTC regulations.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
Oversee year-end tax processes and coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely K-1 and return delivery.
Lead corporate and fund audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Maintain strong internal controls, document financial procedures, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local filings (1099s, sales/use tax, registrations, etc.).
Investor Relations Support
Provide clear, accurate financial reporting for investors and respond to investor and due-diligence requests.
Support new fund offerings through detailed financial analysis and documentation.
HR, Benefits & Corporate Operations
Oversee corporate HR administration, payroll, benefits, 401(k) match funding, and onboarding of employees, vendors, and consultants.
Maintain insurance relationships and manage annual renewals (cyber, D&O, and other corporate policies).
Professional Development & Industry Awareness
Stay current on LIHTC, HUD, state housing finance agencies, and other regulatory requirements by attending conferences and industry events.
Perform additional duties as needed while maintaining strict confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred.
Active CPA strongly preferred.
Minimum 8 years of LIHTC or affordable housing accounting/finance experience.
Strong understanding of LIHTC, HUD/FHA, USDA/RD, Section 8, RAD, CDBG, HOME, and other housing programs.
Commitment to affordable housing and community development nationwide.
