The Next Chapter with United Way of Central Ohio

Michael Wilkos, Sr. Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Central Ohio, will present on the history of redlining and structural neighborhood planning around Central Ohio. Learn about the institutional structures that went into planning communities around Columbus, the lasting effects of redlining on Columbus neighborhoods, and how we can move past and repair these practices as we plan for the future.

The Next Chapter series is a partnership with the City of Bexley and United Way of Central Ohio that will examine trends in population growth, demographics, job outlook, housing, transportation, education, and other aspects that affect the quality of life around Central Ohio. Learn about how we became the city we are today and how we can best prepare, influence, and embrace the city we are growing into. Michael Wilkos, Sr. Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Central Ohio, will present the first two programs in this series.

The Next Chapter series continues on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 pm with a panel on The Future of Transportation in Central Ohio with representatives from MORPC, Transit Columbus, and LinkUs.
